I welcome you to the Universal Engineering and Science College (UESC). Engineering, science and technology are evolving faster than ever. In recent years, tremendous progress has been made in Nepal in terms of digital infrastructure, physical infrastructure, and built environment. These progresses have improved quality of life in terms of living conditions, transportation, energy, communication, and digital services. Nepal is much more integrated in the global world than ever before.
However, Nepal’s journey to prosperity has just begun. Despite the progress that has been achieved by Nepal, there are still a myriad of challenges mainly due to the lack of physical and digital infrastructure. Resilient roads and bridges, safe buildings, mega hydropower, high-speed internet, electric transportation, etc., are some of the urgent needs of the country. Never have the challenges and opportunities of engineering been more exciting or more critical than they are today. There is an ever-increasing demand for engineering graduates in Nepal, Asia, and globally. Engineers’ role is to contribute directly to the betterment of the society through innovation and application of science and technology. Engineering is a tremendously rewarding profession, but the demand for higher standards and qualities of engineers is also increasing.
I encourage students to join UESC; an engineering education from UESC provides students with exceptional opportunities to search, define and impact the future.
